By now you should be aware that Mago can be configured to send you SMS messages to alert you when someone fills out your contact form, or as part of any automation routine.
By default, the system is designed to send the message to YOU, the user, at the number you have designated. In some cases, though, you might want an SMS sent to someone else. That's easily done with just a few clicks.
The easiest way to do this is using the carrier email-to-sms gateway and Mago's "send to other" feature.
First you'll need the sms email address. Every mobile carrier has a way to turn a phone number into an email address that, when emailed, will forward it as a text message to the subscriber. Here is a list of carrier gateway addresses. For example, if you're with Verizon the address is number@vzwpix.com. If your phone number is 555-555-5555 then it would be 5555555555@vzwpix.com.
Once you have that email address, you'll need to create an email template for the SMS. Remember, short and sweet. SMS is limited in length. Once you have your message template, you need to add this template to a new automation routine. From the left menu, click "automation" then "routines."Once there, click the "+" icon on the "lead automation" panel. Call it "sms notify" (or whatever) Next, on the right panel, click the "+" icon to add an automation step.
On step one, select "Send email" as the automation action.
On step two, chose your new sms template then, below that, select "send to other" and enter your sms email address.click next/next/save (leave the defaults) and you've got your configured automation action. The last step is to add this to your contact form.
Open the contact form you're using and go to step 4 to edit the form response.
This video explains how to configure the form response. Leave the response email template, and the notification templates but you also want to add configuration to run the "sms notify" automation routine when the form is submitted.
If you already have a routine in place that kicks off when someone fills out the form, simply add the automation steps outlined above to the existing routine.
In summary:
- Get SMS email address
- Create Template
- Create automation to send that template
- Add this automation to the form response to your contact form
- profit!
